
Gloria Harris
Missanabie Cree First Nation
Gloria Harris is a dedicated educator, cultural facilitator, and advocate with over three decades of experience supporting Indigenous education and community development. She is a proud graduate of Brock University, where she earned a Bachelor of Education (BEd) specializing in Aboriginal Adult Education.
Currently, Gloria serves as the Post-Secondary Education Officer and Cultural Facilitator for the Missanabie Cree First Nation in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Since 2020, she has worked tirelessly to support Indigenous learners in accessing higher education while promoting cultural awareness and preservation. Prior to this role, she spent two years as a Cultural Facilitator, fostering community engagement and cultural revitalization initiatives.
Gloria also has extensive experience in post-secondary education. From 2012 to 2017, she was a professor at George Brown College, where she taught courses in Aboriginal Studies, feminist political action, and community development as part of the Assaulted Women's and Children's Counselor Advocate Program. Her work focused on addressing systemic issues such as gender, race, and class, empowering students to become change-makers in their communities.
