Dean Sayers

Dean Sayers served as the Chief of Batchewana First Nation from 2006 until 2023. During his 17-year tenure, he focused on preserving the cultural heritage of the Anishinaabe people and advancing the well-being of the community. Sayers was actively involved in negotiations related to the Robinson Huron Treaty annuities settlement, advocating for fair compensation for his people. Under his leadership, Batchewana First Nation made significant strides in economic development and cultural revitalization.
